Amat menyedihkan........

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a horrible day for the country’s top three men’s doubles pairs on Saturday.
World No. 5 Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong were served with an ultimatum once again – to deliver at the back-to-back Denmark Open (Oct 15-20) and French Open (Oct 22-27) or expect a split.
Two others – Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong (world No. 13th) and Lim Khim Wah-Goh V Shem (world No. 16th) were dumped in the semi-finals of the Kuala Lumpur Open at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton (KLBA) Stadium in Cheras by younger scratch pairs.
Kien Keat-Boon Heong were the top seeds in the ongoing KL Open but they withdrew because Kien Keat wanted a break to prepare for his wedding.
In their absence, second seeds Thien How-Wee Kiong and third seeds Khim Wah-V Shem were expected to battle it out for the title but their runs ended prematurely on Saturday.
Thien How-Wee Kiong were shocked 12-21, 14-21 by Chooi Kah Ming-Teo Ee Yi while Khim Wah-V Shem’s hope to end their partnership on a high note ended with a 15-21, 16-21 defeat to Ow Yao Han-Teo Kok Siang.
Khim Wah and V Shem will be given new partners after the KL Open.
Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, hopes for an explosive semi-final match between top seed Chong Wei Feng and Misbun Ramdan Misbun ended in a whimper when the former scored a convincing 21-16, 21-9 win to reach the final.
Said Wei Feng: “I lost to Ramdan for the first time at the National Grand Prix Finals in Kedah last year. Then, he was aggressive and his attacking was on the mark. Today, I felt that he had slowed down a little.”

Wei Feng will take on back-up shuttler Chong Yee Han, who continued his gallant run by defeating compatriot Tan Kian Meng with a hard-fought 21-18, 15-21, 21-10. Kian Meng had beaten Liew Daren a day ago.
